Legg Mason, Inc. (NYSE: LM) reported Q4 EPS of $0.88, $0.40 better than the analyst estimate of $0.48. Revenue for the quarter came in at $648.6 million versus the consensus estimate of $645.28 million.

AUM increased to $643.3 billion compared with $627.0 billion at December 31, 2011, driven by $24.4 billion in market appreciation, partially offset by net client outflows of $4.9 billion and dispositions of $3.2 billion.
