General Electric (GE) Tops Q2 EPS by 5c; adj.-Backlog Up 6%

General Electric (NYSE: GE) reports Q2 operating and verticals EPS of $0.51, $0.05 better than the analyst estimate of $0.46. Revenue was $33.49 billion, versus the consensus of $31.76 billion.

  • Record backlog $320 billion, +17% vs 2Q’15, +6% ex. Alstom
  • Orders -2%, -16% organic
  • Reaffirm 2016 Industrial operating + Verticals EPS guidance

The diversity and scale of our portfolio enabled the company to perform well despite a volatile and slow growth economy. We delivered $0.51 of earnings per share with strong execution in Power, Aviation and Healthcare that offset challenging environments in Oil & Gas and Transportation.
