Family Dollar Stores (FDO) Tops Q2 EPS by 1c

Family Dollar Stores (NYSE: FDO) reported Q2 EPS of $0.74, $0.01 better than the analyst estimate of $0.73. Revenue for the quarter came in at $2.8 billion versus the consensus estimate of $2.8 billion.

Comparable store sales for the 13-week period increased 0.5% as a result of an increase in the number of customer transactions which was offset by a decrease in the average customer transaction value.
