Corinthian Colleges (COCO) Tops Q1 Views; Guides Q2, Raises FY10 Outlook

Corinthian Colleges (NASDAQ: COCO) reports Q1 EPS of $0.37, versus the analyst estimate of $0.28. Revenue for the quarter was $388.47 million, which compares to the estimate of $377.88 million.

Q1 student population up 25.9%.

Sees Q2 EPS of $0.37-$0.40, versus the consensus of $0.32, on sales of $395-$405 million, versus the Street estimate of $396.83 million.

Raises its FY10 guidance for start growth from 10-12% to 11-13%. Sales move from $1.58-$1.6 billion to $1.62-$1.64 billion, versus the Street estimate of $1.61 billion. EPS move from $1.30-$1.36 to $1.55-$1.60. The Street is currently looking for FY10 EPS of $1.35.
