Clearwire Corporation (CLWR) Tops Q2 EPS by 3c; Boosts FY12 Revs Outlook

Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ: CLWR) reported Q2 EPS of ($0.28), $0.03 better than the analyst estimate of ($0.31). Revenue for the quarter came in at $316.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $320.8 million.
Clearwire ended second quarter 2012 with approximately 11.0 million total subscribers, up 43% from 7.6 million subscribers in second quarter 2011. The subscriber base consists of 1.3 million retail subscribers and 9.6 million wholesale subscribers, reflecting 8,000 retail and 34,000 wholesale net subscriber losses during second quarter 2012. Wholesale subscribers consist primarily of Sprint 3G/4G smartphone customers.
Sees FY2012 revenue of $1.2-$1.3 billion, versus prior guidance of $1.15-$1.25 billion and the consensus of $1.29 billion.

Your article is narrowly scoped when you define that clearwire lost subs, but what you don't say is that their wholesale sub count from Sprint is pointless as Sprint pays a flat fee
