Citi Sees Consolidation in Software Industry (INFA, OMTR, CTXS, RHT, more)
A Citi analyst put out a very interesting research note this morning highlighting potential takeover candidates in the Software space. The analyst points out that while only one acquisition happened during Q1 of this year, seven have already been announced since the beginning of Q2.
The analyst said, "As the U.S. economy slowly climbs out of the recession and equity markets continue their rebound, we expect software M&A activity to pick up during the remainder of 2009." Here is the analyst's list of possible targets:
- Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA)
- Omniture (Nasdaq: OMTR)
- Citrix (Nasdaq: CTXS)
- Red Hat (NYSE: RHT)
- Nuance (Nasdaq: NUAN)
- Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM)
- McAfee (NYSE: MFE)
- Concur (Nasdaq: CNQR)
- Take-Two Interactive (Nasdaq: TTWO)
- THQ (Nasdaq: THQI)
