Blue Nile (NILE) Reports In-Line Q4 EPS, FY16 Guidance Falls Short

Blue Nile (NASDAQ: NILE) reported Q4 EPS of $0.43, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter came in at $150 million versus the consensus estimate of $164.54 million.

GUIDANCE:

Blue Nile sees Q1 2016 EPS of $0.08-$0.11, versus the consensus of $0.13. Blue Nile sees Q1 2016 revenue of $103-106 million, versus the consensus of $113.18 million.

Blue Nile sees FY2016 EPS of $0.88-$0.95, versus the consensus of $1.05. Blue Nile sees FY2016 revenue of $465-495 million, versus the consensus of $522.43 million.

Blue Nile announces its first ever dividend. This special cash dividend is equal to $0.70 per share. The dividend will be payable on March 7, 2016 to shareholders of record at the close of business on February 22, 2016. The Company determined the value of the dividend based on the level of earnings in fiscal year 2015. On an annual basis, the Company will reassess its use of capital, including investments in operations, strategic alternatives, share repurchases, and cash dividends.
