Black Box (BBOX) Tops Q2 EPS by 7c; Issues Mixed Guides for Q3 and FY

Black Box (Nasdaq: BBOX) reports Q2 EPS of $0.86 (ex-items), 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.79. Revenue for the quarter was $273 million, which compares to the estimate of $258.90 million.

For Fiscal 2011, the Company is targeting reported revenues of approximately $1.06 billion to $1.07 billion and corresponding operating earnings per share in the range of $3.30 to $3.40. Included in these projections is an effective tax rate of 38.0%. (Consensus is $1.04B and $3.21)

For the third quarter of Fiscal 2011, the Company is targeting reported revenues of approximately $260 million to $265 million and corresponding operating earnings per share in the range of 76¢ to 81¢. (Consensus is $257.40M and $0.81)
