Alcoa (AA) Reports Q2 Adj-Loss of $0.26, Beats by 12c

Alcoa (NYSE: AA) reports Q2 loss of $0.26, ex-items, 12 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.38). Revenue for the quarter was $4.2 billion, versus the consensus of $3.93 billion.

UPDATE: as the company reported the results, the NYSE halted the stock. The stock resumed trading about an hour after the release, opening up about 7%. Alcoa shares most recently traded at $10.05.

On the company's conference call, Alcoa's CFO said he is seeing signs of stabilization in the auto industry.
