Research Firm Cuts World Corn-Harvest by 18 Million Tons (CORN)

The world corn harvest is expected to be 914.7 million metric tones, according to agricultural research firm Informa Economics Inc. That is 18 tons lower than previous estimates of 932.561 million tons. Last years the world harvest was 872 million tons, according the Memphis based researcher.

Teucrium Corn ETF (NYSE: CORN) is lower by nearly 2 percent today, and is higher by 26 percent for the month. Corn futures have moves significantly higher in the past 30 days due to fears that a record breaking heat wave would damage corn crops.
