Notable ETF Movers of the Day 08/24: (XKV) Higher; (KOL) (TAN) Lower

Gainers:
Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSE: XLV) is higher by 0.90 to 38.76. There is plenty of action in heath care and pharmaceuticals today. Most notably, shares of Eli Lilly (NYSE: LLY) are trading higher after its drug, solanezumab, showed statistically significant slowing of cognitive decline in patients with mild Alzheimer's disease. The drug did not have the same affects on patients with moderate Alzheimer's disease.
Decliners:
Market Vectors Coal ETF (NYSE: KOL) is lower by 1.3 percent to 23.71. Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE: ANR) and a few other met names in the space are lower, while Peabody Energy Corp. (NYSE: BTU) trades slightly higher. The selloff in Alpha Natural Resources extends yesterday’s decline and pares gains from early in the week.
Guggenheim Solar (NYSE: TAN) is lower by 1.05 percent to 17.88. The downdraft is partially due to an earnings report by ReneSola Ltd. (NYSE: SOL). The company reported 2Q earnings that missed EPS estimates by 6c. Shares of SOL are lower by 14.54 percent.
