Notable ETF Movers of the Day 04/26: (SMH) (UNG) (FXI) Higher; (VXX) (MOO) Lower

  • Market Vectors Semiconductor ETF (NYSE: SMH) up 1.67 percent to $34.44. The ETF being led higher by Xilinx (Nasdaq: XLNX), which reported Q4 EPS of $0.49 and revs of $558.97 million after the market closed Wednesday, compared with the analyst EPS estimate of $0.41 and revs of $531.59 million.

  • United States Natural Gas (NYSE: UNG) up 1.67 percent to $15.86. The EIA reported that nat gas stockpiles rose 47 billion cubic feet last week, toward the higher-end of expectations calling for a 43 to 47 bcf increase.

  • iShares FTSE China 25 Index Fund (NYSE: FXI) up 0.40 percent to $37.68. China stocks higher following Premier Wen Jiabao affirming he will move to maintain economic growth.

  • iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN (NYSE: VXX) down 1.84 percent to $16.51. Pending home sales bringing some relief to the market amid a slight down-tick in a measure of the jobs market. Reports today had pending home sales up 4.1 percent in March, compared with market views expecting just a 0.5 percent gain.

    First-time claims for unemployment benefits for last week came in at 388K, from 389K the prior period and 373K expected.

  • Market Vectors Agribusiness ETF (NYSE: MOO) down 0.62 percent to $52.24. Potash Corp. (NYSE: POT) is lower after reporting EPS of 56 cents and revs of $1.75 billion, versus expectations calling for EPS of 63 cents and revs of $1.79 billion.
