Greece, Creditors Agree on Some Measures, but Work Still Remains (FXE) (GREK)

June 4, 2015 6:25 AM EDT

Greece and its international creditors were said to have met on certain aspects of a financing deal during a meeting held Wednesday night.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras held late night talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem.

Tsipras was in agreement with creditors on new budget targets, but wasn't keen on proposals for further pension cuts and increases to Greece's value-added tax. Creditors are adamant on the latter part, see the move as key for Greece to meet its budget targets.

Tsipras will submit a counter offer to creditors in the coming days. Talks have to conclude by June 14th at the latest, according to one Greek official.
