Germany's adj.-Inflation Growth Slowed to 0.1% in Dec. (FXE)

The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be 0.9% on an annual average in 2014 as compared with 2013. Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the inflation rate is expected to stand at 0.2% in December 2014. A lower rate of inflation was last measured in October 2009 (0.0%). However, consumer prices are not expected to have changed on November 2014.

The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to have risen by 0.8% in 2014 as compared with 2013. In December 2014, the harmonised index is expected to record a 0.1% year-on-year increase and a 0.1% rise from November.

The final results for December 2014 will be released on 16 January 2015.
