Valassis (NYSE: VCI) 48.9% LOWER; reports Q3 loss of $0.11, versus the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenue for the quarter was $563.7 million, versus the consensus of $603.77 million.

Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) 46.6% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.32, 5 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter was $956.3 billion, versus the consensus of $1.23 billion.

Syniverse Technologies (NYSE: SVR) 44.4% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.50, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter was $137.2 million, versus the consensus of $132.36 million. Reaffirms outlook.

inVentiv Health, Inc. (Nasdaq: VTIV) 40% HIGHER; reports Q3 adj-EPS of $0.41, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.38. Revenue for the quarter was $289.2 million, versus the consensus of $279.79 million. Reaffirms its FY08 guidance fro sales of $1.05-$1.15 billion and EPS of $0.90-$0.95. American Equity Investment Life Holding Co. (NYSE: AEL) 37% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.42, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.34.

Global Cash Access (NYSE: GCA) 23.9% HIGHER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.11, versus the analyst estimate of $0.16. Revenue for the quarter was $185.1 million, versus the consensus of $184.79 million.

American Apparel (NYSE: APP) 16.6% HIGHER; announced the company's comparable store sales (unaudited) for the month of October 2008 increased 22% over the year ago period. American Apparel opened 7 new retail stores during the month of September.
