PetMed (PETS) Shares Falling as Noble Downgrades to Sell Following Disappointing Earnings

Shares of PetMed Express (NASDAQ: PETS) have tumbled intraday following a mid-day downgrade from an analyst at Noble Financial. Although still higher from yesterday's close, the stock sunk nearly 2.5% minutes after the analyst research note was issued. PETS shares last traded at $14.97.

Noble Financial now rates PetMed shares a Sell, down from Hold previously.

The firm called PetMed's Q3 results, reported yesterday morning, "light even on our more conservative outlook on weaker than expected new order sales; a new low as a percent of total sales." Shares of PetMed fell almost 5% yesterday following the quarterly results.

Noble reduced its Q4 EPS estimate for PetMed from 24c to 22c, its FY11 EPS estimate from 97c to 95c and its FY12 estimate from $1.18 to 99c. The Street is currently looking for Q4 EPS of 20c, FY11 EPS of 98c and FY12 EPS of $1.07.
