Nokia (NOK) Sees Mobile Device Market Share Outlook for Q3 Below Q2 -DJ

September 5, 2008 8:10 AM EDT

Dow Jones is reporting that Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has lowered its Q3 mobile device market share estimate to lower than Q2, which compares to its prior estimate of flat from Q3 to Q2. Nokia's market share outlook for FY08 remains to be an increase from FY07.

Nokia expects the mobile device market this year to be impacted by the weaker consumer confidence in multiple markets. However, Nokia continues to expect industry mobile device volumes in 2008 to grow 10% or more from the approximately 1.14 billion units Nokia estimated for 2007. Nokia also continues to expect industry mobile device volumes in the third quarter 2008 to be up sequentially.

Nokia sees its product launches and shipments to be on track during the remainder of Q3 and Q4.

Nokia will report Q3 earnings on October 16, 2008.

Nokia Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells a range of mobile devices and networks with services and software worldwide.
