Cott Corporation (NYSE: COT) 45.1% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.28, 35 cents better than estimates. Revenues were $367.0 million vs. $377.33 million consensus.

Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation (Nasdaq: BGFV) 31.4% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.13, 8 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $210.3 million, versus the consensus of $201.17 million. Declares $0.05/share quarter dividend. Sees Q2 same store sales in the flat to positive low-single digit range and EPS in the range of $0.10-$0.18. For comparative purposes, the Company's EPS Q2 were $0.08, including a non-recurring charge of $0.04 per diluted share. (Consensus is $0.01) The stock was also upgraded to Buy at Needham.

Tree.com (Nasdaq: TREE) 28.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.32, versus the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter was $57.3 million, versus the consensus of $55.41 million.

General Cable Corporation (NYSE: BGC) 26% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $1.00, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $0.56. Revenue for the quarter was $1.04 billion, versus the consensus of $1.14 billion. Sees Q2 adj-EPS of $0.70-$0.90, versus the consensus of $0.69.

Cobra Electronics Corporation (Nasdaq: COBR) 25% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.25, compared to a gain of $0.01 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $19.1 million, versus $28.9 million in Q108.

Entegris (Nasdaq: ENTG) 23.1% HIGHER; reported Q1 earnings yesterday and was upgraded to Buy at BofA this morning.

Liquidity Services Inc (Nasdaq: LQDT) 22.8% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.09, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.08. Revenue for the quarter was $59.7 million, versus the consensus of $57.89 million. Sees Q3 EPS of $0.16-$0.17, versus the consensus of $0.17. Sees FY90 EPS of $0.45-$0.47, versus the consensus of $0.44.

Empire Resorts, Inc. (NASDAQ: NYNY) 22.8% HIGHER; announced today that Governor David Paterson, in a letter dated April 29, 2009, addressed to newly appointed Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, requested the withdrawal of a January 2008 Guidance Memorandum that abruptly derailed the St. Regis Mohawk $600 million casino project at the Monticello Raceway, which is owned by the Company, as well as dozens of other Native American land to trust applications for gaming projects across the United States.

James River Coal (Nasdaq: JRCC) 20.9% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $1.03, versus the analyst estimate of $0.81. Revenue for the quarter was $192.12 million, versus the consensus of $192.98 million.

Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCC) 20.2% HIGHER; reports Q1 loss of $0.13, 1 cent worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.12). Revenue for the quarter was $41 million, versus the consensus of $44.23 million. Q4 2009 non-GAAP net loss was $(11.8) million or $(0.18) per share (including discontinued operations) Also upgraded to Outperform at Oppenheimer.

Mettler-Toledo International (NYSE: MTD) 18.9% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.95, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of $0.81. Revenue for the quarter was $374.1 million, versus the consensus of $381.56 million. Sees Q2 adj-EPS of $1.05-$1.15, versus the consensus of $1.09. Also upgraded to Outperform at Baird.

Emisphere Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: EMIS) 18.9% HIGHER; today announced that the company has been informed by an independent expert panel of scientists that its Sodium N-[8-(2-hydroxybenzoyl) Amino] Caprylate carrier has been provisionally designated as Generally Recognized as Safe for its intended application in combination with nutrients added to food and dietary supplements.

Reliant Energy (NYSE: RRI) 17.5% LOWER; today announced the close of the sale of its Texas retail business to NRG Energy, Inc. In conjunction with the transaction's close, the company will change its name to RRI Energy, Inc., effective May 2, 2009. The company also announced that its board of directors has successfully concluded its review of strategic alternatives.

Sequenom (Nasdaq: SQNM) 17% HIGHER; bouncing today following yesterday's 70% drop on news that a trial will be delayed.

Simon Property (NYSE: SPG) 5% LOWER; reports Q1 FFO of $1.61, 13 cents better than the analyst estimate of $1.48. Revenue for the quarter was $918.5 million, versus the consensus of $885.61 million. Simon Property sees FY09 ESP $6.05 to $6.20 versus consensus of $6.08. Also cut its quarterly dividend to $0.60 per share.
