More Color On Comments From Apple (AAPL) CFO Today

September 3, 2008 3:23 PM EDT

Today, Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) CFO Peter Oppenheimer made comments about Apple's prospects at teh Citi Tech conference. Oppenheimer said Apple is 'very happy' with its margins on the iPhone and iPhone 3G. Additionally, Apple does not see 'any ceiling' to the Mac making market share gains in the U.S. and globally.

On the international front, Apple is excited about the potential having retail stores in the world's most populous country, China. The only regret that Oppenheimer mentioned regarding the iPhone launch was that it wished it had not launched Mobile ME on the same day as the iPhone 3G launch. During the first week of the iPhone 3G launch, the Mobile Me site suffered many outages and didn't function properly.

Apple has took advantage of the popularity of its iPod media players and iPhones to attract customers to Apple's line of various computers and laptops. Apple currently ranks behind only Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) and Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) in U.S. PC sales.

Apple is currently trading down 0.26% to $165.86
