Michael Baker (BKR) Engineering Unit Awarded Contract by Pennsylvania Dept of Environmental Protection

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex: BKR), has been awarded a contract by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) to provide general technical assistance services throughout the Commonwealth. The contract is initially valued at $3 million with no cap, for a period of two years with three optional years.

Baker will provide a full range of environmental site investigation, compliance, and training services for the six Regional Offices and Central Office of the PADEP. This is the fourth general technical assistance contract awarded to Baker from the PADEP with past five-year contracts initiated in 1990, 1999, and 2004. The contract is typically used to assess abandoned hazardous waste sites under PADEP's hazardous sites cleanup program.
