Deutsche Bank Initiates Coverage on Janus Capital (JNS) with a Hold; Some Challenges Remain In The Near Term

June 4, 2009 7:29 AM EDT

Deutsche Bank initiates coverage on Janus Capital (NYSE: JNS) with a Hold.

Deutsche analyst says, "We are initiating coverage on JNS with a Hold rating, 2009 and 2010 EPS estimates of $0.30 and $0.55, and a $10 price target. While the operating environment has been tough for Janus and the sector, the recent rally is providing some relief, and management was early in controlling what it can, including taking out costs and diversifying its product mix. That said, given near-term challenges, its recent run, and lofty valuation, we think a lot of the positives are priced in and we see limited potential for upside in the short term."
