Dahlman Rose downgraded Avalon Rare Metals (NYSE: AVL) from Buy to Hold.

The firm said in the current environment investors will be rewarded for investing in
companies with the clearest paths toward production and cash flow. The two best vehicles for this are Molycorp (NYSE: MCP) and Rare Element Resources (NYSE: REE), they said.
