Bernstein Downgrades EMC Corp (EMC) to Market Perform

May 20, 2008 8:01 AM EDT

Sanford C. Bernstein downgrades EMC Corp (NYSE: EMC) from Outperform to Market Perform, saying they still see risk due to the continued IT slowdown. They said while storage spending should hold up, this could be offset by EMC's high exposure to the U.S. and financial services.

EMC Corporation develops, delivers, and supports information infrastructure technologies and solutions.

This downgrade is absurd! Load up--EMC is on sale!

the last monkey analyst that downgraded emc at 14 and change saw a spike up to 18. EMC said the expect growth yesterday albeit small growth. EMC given VMW's valuation is EXTREMELY CHEAP. You'd have to be a monkey not to see that.

I disagree on the downgrade. EMC is under valued based on its 85% holding of VMW. Its the undisputed leader in storage. CSCO may make an offer for EMC which will be 30% or greater higher than the current price. Meaning $23-$25 range. A down grade is simply not justified.
