Assured Guaranty Ltd. to Report Third Quarter 2009 Financial Results on November 16, 2009

HAMILTON, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Assured Guaranty Ltd. (NYSE: AGO) (the "Company") announced that it intends to issue its financial results and financial supplement for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 ("third quarter 2009") after 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (5:00 p.m. Atlantic Time) on Monday, November 16, 2009. A copy of these documents will be available on the Company's website at http://www.assuredguaranty.com. Third quarter 2009 financial results will include the financial results of Financial Security Assurance Holdings Ltd. ("FSAH"), which is the parent of financial guaranty insurance company Financial Security Assurance Inc., that the Company acquired on July 1, 2009. The Company's financial results will also include the purchase accounting adjustments for the fair value of the acquired assets and liabilities, primarily FSAH's financial guaranty insurance contracts, and the impact of conforming FSAH's accounting policies, methodologies and assumptions to that of the Company's. As a result of the need to consolidate FSAH into the Company's financial statements, the Company expects that it will be unable to file its Form 10-Q for the period ended September 30, 2009 by the November 9, 2009 due date without unreasonable effort and expense. The Company anticipates filing a Form 12b-25 with the Securities and Exchange Commission when appropriate and filing its Form 10-Q by November 16, 2009.
