United Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: UBSI) announced that its Board declared a third quarter dividend of $0.29 per share for shareholders of record as of September 12, 2008. The third quarter dividend of $0.29 per share represents a 4% increase over the $0.28 paid in the third quarter of 2007. Dividends per share of $0.87 for the first three quarters of 2008 also represents a 4% increase over the $0.84 per share paid for the first three quarters of 2007.
