Earlier, Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.40 per share on the Common Stock. The dividend is payable on or after February 17, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on January 23, 2009.
The ex-dividend date is January 21. You must own the stock at least one day before the ex-dividend date in order to capture this quarter's dividend.
The dividend yield on Procter & Gamble is 2.7%
Procter & Gamble said it has been paying dividends without interruption since incorporation in 1890.
