National Penn Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: NPBC) today announced that its Board has approved a 70.6% reduction in its quarterly dividend from $0.17 to $0.05 per common share. The dividend is payable on May 15 to shareholders of record as of May 1, 2009.
Based on yesterday's closing price of $8.69, the lowered dividend will yield 2.30%, down from 7.58% previously.
