Microchip Technology, Inc. (MCHP) Raises Quarterly Dividend 0.3% to $0.353; 4.2% Yield

Microchip Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP) declared a quarterly dividend of $0.353 per share, or $1.412 annualized. This is a 0.3% increase from the prior dividend of $0.352.
The dividend will be payable on March 7, 2013, to stockholders of record on February 21, 2013, with an ex-dividend date of February 19, 2013.
The annual yield on the dividend is 4.2 percent.
"Microchip grew its cash and investments balance to $1.77 billion at December 31, 2012, and our cash generation continues to be very strong," said Steve Sanghi, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board. "Our Board of Directors authorized an increase in our quarterly cash dividend to a record 35.3 cents per share, a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to return value to our stockholders."
