rooms. Meaning part of the poker room earnings go back to the players. Rakeback is a dividend from the poker room to the
player as a loyalty bonus for playing with them.
Merck (MRK) Declares $0.38 Quarterly Dividend; 4.1% Yield; Announces $3B Common Buyback
Merck and Co. (NYSE: MRK) declare a quarterly dividend of $0.38 per common share, or $1.52 annualized.
Payment will be made on January 8, 2010 to common stockholders of record at the close of business on December 15, 2009. The ex-dividend date is December 11, 2009.
Yield on the dividend is 4.1%.
In a separate action, the Board of Directors approved purchases over time of up to $3 billion of Merck's common stock for its treasury. Treasury stock purchases will be made on the open market or in block transactions or in privately negotiated transactions.
