CARBO Ceramics Inc. (NYSE: CRR) has approved an increase in the Company's dividend, raising the quarterly dividend 21% to 17 cents per common share. The dividend is payable on August 15, 2008 to shareholders of record as of July 31, 2008.
Gary Kolstad, Chief Executive Officer and President of CARBO Ceramics, said, "This dividend increase reflects the Board of Directors' continued confidence in the long-term outlook for our business and in the company's ability to sustain its financial strength."
This dividend increase represents the eighth consecutive year the company has increased its dividend to shareholders. In July 2007, the Company announced a dividend payment of $0.14 per share, an increase of 17%.[SM]
