Reuters is reporting that eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) is looking to buy a stake in Gmarket (Nasdaq: GMKT), a South Korean online retailer. eBay would be purchasing the stake from Interpark, a South Korean mall operator, but the companies are currently waiting for approval from the Korea Fair Trade Commission.
eBay, Inc. and its subsidiaries provide online marketplaces for the sale of goods and services, online payments services, and online communications offerings to individuals and businesses in the United States and internationally.
Gmarket, Inc. operates a retail e-commerce marketplace in Korea. Its e-commerce marketplace offers buyers a selection of products, and sellers various sales solutions.
