Will the Next Apple (AAPL) iPhone Be 4G Compatible? All Signs Point to 'Yes'

According to reports out late Thursday, Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile unit all but officially affirmed it will carry an Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) iOS device capable of running on its 4G HSPA+ mobile network.

From 9to5Mac (because using a Mac should be limited to business hours only), a T-Mobile spokesperson said: "As part of the company’s previously announced $4 billion network modernization effort, T-Mobile plans to launch 4G HSPA+ service in the 1900 MHz band in a large number of markets by the end of the year, which will make our 4G network compatible with a broader range of devices, including the iPhone" [emphasis ours].

Virgin Mobile announced Thursday the company would carry the iPhone 4 and 4S on its prepaid network.

In addition to getting new iPhones in the future, T-Mobile noted it had about 1 million unlocked iPhones running on its network currently.
