Viacom's (VIA-B) CEO Issues Statement Regarding FCC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking
Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA) (NYSE: VIA-B) President and Chief Executive Officer Philippe Dauman issued the following statement regarding the FCC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on preserving the open Internet and broadband industry practices.
"We're pleased that the FCC and the Administration recognize the substantial contributions made by content producers to the U.S. economy, as well as the critical need to ensure that the rights of artists remain protected. Chairman Genachowski and the Commission clearly understand that the availability of quality content has always played a significant role in increasing broadband demand and adoption, and we look forward to working collaboratively with them throughout this process."
