Unusual 11 Mid-Day Movers 8/6: RTK, CCRT, PGTI, SXCI Higher; PCS, VITA, SRZ, FIT Lower
Rentech, Inc. (AMEX: RTK) 50.4% HIGHER; announced today that ASTM International's full governance committee has unanimously approved modifying the specifications for commercial aviation jet fuel to include up to a 50/50 blend of synthetic Fischer-Tropsch jet fuel. The jet fuel certified by the Federal Aviation Administration for use in commercial aircraft relies on ASTM's specifications. Rentech's jet fuel, RenJet(R), qualifies under the approved specifications of synthetic jet fuel.
MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE: PCS) 31.3% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.07, 7 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $860 million, versus the consensus of $861.74 million. The stock was upgraded to Neutral at Pali Research
Orthovita, Inc. (NASDAQ: VITA) 31.1% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.01, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of ($0.02). Revenue for the quarter was $24.5 million, versus the consensus of $22.86 million. Raises its FY09 loss guidance from $0.07-$0.08 to $0.04-$0.05, versus the consensus of a loss of $0.05.
CompuCredit (Nasdaq: CCRT) 29% HIGHER; shares are continuing higher today following a 12% jump yesterday. We still have not heard any company-specific news. With 43% of its float shorted in mid-July, the recent rise may be related to short sellers covering their downside bets.
PGT, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGTI) 28% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.01, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter was $46.9 million, versus the consensus of $47.88 million.
SXC Health Solutions, Corp. (Nasdaq: SXCI) 28% HIGHER; reported Q2 adjusted EPS of $0.53, well ahead of the analyst estimate of $0.19. Revenue for the quarter was $320.8 million, versus the consensus of $301 million.
Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. (NYSE: SRZ) 26.4% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $1.62 compared to a loss of $0.63 for the same period last year. Sunrise reported revenues of $380.9 million for the second quarter of 2009, as compared to $411.3 million for the second quarter of 2008.
Home Inns & Hotels Management Inc. (Nasdaq: HMIN) 25.7% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.23, ex-items, 10 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.13. Revenue for the quarter was $94 million, versus the consensus of $86.1 million. Sees Q3 sales of $100.3-$103.2 million, versus the consensus of $92.32 million.
Health Fitness Corporation (Amex: FIT) 24.5% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.04, 4 cents lower than the analyst estimate of $0.08. Revenue for the quarter was $18.8 million, versus the consensus of $19.40 million.
O’Charley’s Inc. (Nasdaq: CHUX) 24% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.13, 11 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.02. Revenue for the quarter was $206.2 million, versus the consensus of $213.33 million.
Gibraltar Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: ROCK) 22.5% HIGHER; reports Q2 loss of $0.02, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.09). Revenue for the quarter was $217 million, versus the consensus of $229.87 million. The stock was also upgraded to Outperform at Baird.
