US Bancorp (USB) and Northern Trust (NTRS) Bounce on Reports They Will Pay Back TARP Funds
Shares of US Bancorp (NYSE: USB) have bounced on reports that Rep. Barney Frank has said it and Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) will give back their TARP funds.
Just before the news was released, US Bancorp's stock was down more than 16%, but as the comment hit the wires, the stock bounced and is currently down about 13% to $9.50.
Meanwhile, shares of Northern Trust have bounced about 2% on the news. The stock most recently traded at $50.46, down 4.9%.
