Trecora Resources (NYSE: TREC), a leading provider of high purity specialty hydrocarbons and waxes, today announced that Sami Ahmad will be appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer, replacing Connie Cook, effective October 1, 2016. Ms. Cook will remain as Treasurer and Secretary with the added title of Vice President of Accounting and Compliance. Mr. Ahmad joins Trecora from Armada Water Assets, Inc. where he was Chief Financial Officer and served on the Board of Directors.

"We are delighted to welcome Sami to Trecora at an important juncture in the Company's history," said Simon Upfill-Brown, Trecora's President and CEO. "Sami brings extensive financial and accounting experience across a broad range of chemical, oil and gas and water service companies. With our growth and diversification, the complexity and demands on the financial side of the business have grown, and we believe it is time to add expertise. Sami provides us the depth to enhance our capabilities in investor relations, capital markets including debt management and mergers and acquisitions. This will allow Connie to focus more on managing the Company's financial reporting and compliance obligations which have grown substantially in recent years."

Mr. Ahmad has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting. Prior to joining Armada Water Assets in 2013, which he helped build from formation, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Southwest Water Company, and as Vice President and Treasurer for Exterran, a publicly-owned oil and gas services company. Earlier Mr. Ahmad worked for LyondellBasell Industries and Lyondell Chemical Company from 1998 to 2009, where his positions included Director, Corporate Development; Assistant Treasurer, Corporate Finance; and Director, Investor Relations. From 1991 through 1998 he held various positions with ARCO Chemical Company where his responsibilities included managing acquisitions and business development, production, and investor relations. He holds a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Mr. Ahmad commented, "I am excited to join Trecora at a time when the chemical industry is expanding production and generating significant opportunities for the Company to grow. My experience with other rapidly growing chemical and natural resource companies will be a significant benefit as Trecora continues to make progress on its numerous capital and operational initiatives. I look forward to working with Simon, Connie and the rest of the Trecora team to ensure that we achieve our strategic objectives and maximize shareholder value."
