Toyota (TM) Looks To EBay (EBAY) To Promote Used Vehicle Inventory

December 17, 2008 6:07 PM EST

Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE: TM) is now going to lise its inventory of used vehicles on EBay Inc. (Nasdaq: EBAY), amid increased competition from massive clearance sales on new cars, the DJ reported.

Under the agreement, which follows a similar move by General Motors (NYSE: GM) earlier this year, consumers will be able to search classified listings on EBay to view inventories of Toyota dealerships in their area.

Through the site, they can then research the car and connect directly with the dealer to expedite the purchase process.
