Teva (TEVA) and Antares (AIS) Announce FDA Approval of Needle-Free Injector for Tev-Tropin(R)
Earlier this morning, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq: TEVA) and its partner, Antares Pharma, Inc. (Amex: AIS) today announced the approval of a Supplemental New Drug Application, which added "needle-free injection" to its Tev-Tropin(R) [somatropin for injection] brand human growth hormone drug label. Teva will market the Antares needle-free device as the Tev-Tropin Tjet Injector system.
Shares of Antares have spiked about 60% on the news today. The stock is seeing extremely heavy volume: already has more than 9.5 million shares, which compares to its 30-day average volume of 157,000 shares.
