Tandy Unveils New Logo and Tag Line as Part of New Corporate Identity
ARLINGTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tandy Brands Accessories (Nasdaq: TBAC) announced today that it has launched a new logo and tag line as part of a new corporate identity. The logo and tag line were unveiled at Tandy's Annual Meeting of Shareholders held today in Arlington, TX.
"The new corporate identity is a key component in repositioning how Tandy is perceived by our customers, our employees and our shareholders," said Rod McGeachy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Tandy. "We have spent the last year restructuring and retooling the company. This new identity builds upon our heritage and core values, yet symbolizes our new vision for the future."
Tandy's new logo is in the shape of a T and incorporates a buckle design. "This buckle design is symbolic in three ways," said Mr. McGeachy. "First, it pays homage to our heritage as a leather company and represents the key role that belts have played, and still play, in our business. Second, the buckle represents the accessories industry, product categories in which Tandy operates today and those to which we may expand to in the future. Third, the buckle is a metaphor for securely connecting two parts together. This emphasizes the importance that we put on our key relationships with our customers, licensors, employees and shareholders."
The new tag line of the company is 'A Look Ahead', which Mr. McGeachy said has strategic implications for Tandy's key stakeholders.
"For our customers, 'A Look Ahead' alludes to our ability to interpret trends and design fresh products that create consumer excitement," said Mr. McGeachy. "It also alludes to our new strategic planning capabilities and how we uniquely partner with customers to deliver innovative solutions and superior business results."
For employees, McGeachy said 'A Look Ahead' underscores the value that Tandy places on employees and our commitment to both personal and career development. He added that the tag line is also a call to action for employees to look ahead, be proactive and find creative ways to solve problems and drive results.
"For our shareholders, 'A Look Ahead' means that we are focused on Total Shareholder Return and are committed to growing the business, profitably," said Mr. McGeachy. McGeachy added that going forward the company will refer to itself simply as 'Tandy' which acknowledges the company's history but also reflects the new rejuvenated spirit of the company.
