Sirius XM (SIRI) App Downloaded More Than 1M Times on Apple Store
SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) today announced its application for iPhone and iPod touch has been downloaded over 1 million times from Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) App Store. The milestone was achieved within 2 weeks of availability.
The SIRIUS XM app debuted on the App Store on June 18 and quickly became the top free app in the Music category on the App Store. The SIRIUS XM app lets users access 120 channels of groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed talk, sports, entertainment and commercial-free music.
Traders seem to be responding positively to the news today. Shares of Sirius XM are currently up 4% to $0.466. Notably, the stock is seeing heavier-than-normal volume. Just 20 minutes into today's trading session, the stock has already traded hands more than 6.8 million times, which compares to average daily volume of 63.73 million shares.
