Science Applications International (SAI) Awarded $13 Million Contract by DARPA and U.S. Air Force

Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) has been awarded a prime contract by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the U. S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). SAIC will create a research framework for the development of reading system technologies and evaluate the performance of these technologies in support of DARPA's Machine Reading program. The contract has a five year period of performance and is valued at more than $13 million.

Under the contract, SAIC will design and implement a complete research framework that supports the development of Reading System technologies. This framework will support progress in the field by program participants and a broad community of researchers in the artificial intelligence and natural language processing communities. SAIC will also conduct performance evaluations of technologies developed by program participants.
