Science Applications International (SAI) Announces $235M Contract Extension with NASA
Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced that it has been awarded a contract extension from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to continue work on the Unified NASA Information Technology Services (UNITeS) contract.
The initial extension award has an eight month base period of performance valued at nearly $120 million, and six one-month options valued at $116 million, bringing the total value of the extension to more than $235 million if all options are exercised. This contract extension raises the ceiling value of the contract to more than $1.3 billion and extends the contract through January 2011. The initial contract was awarded to SAIC in January 2004.
Under the extension, SAIC will continue to provide information technology services to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., and support all NASA Centers, including NASA Headquarters and support for NASA's international sites and networks. SAIC will also provide services in support of NASA's wide area network, IT security, digital television, and Integrated Enterprise Management Program.
