Retail Ventures (RVI) Reports Sames Store Sales Decreased 2.9%
Retail Ventures, Inc. (NYSE: RVI) announced sales from continuing operations, which represents sales of DSW Inc. (DSW) only, for the thirteen weeks ended August 1, 2009 increased 3.4% to $369.5 million from $357.2 million for the thirteen weeks ended August 2, 2008. The company's same store sales decreased 2.9% for the comparable thirteen week period versus a 6.9% decrease in the prior year.
Sales from continuing operations for the twenty-six weeks ended August 1, 2009 increased 4.4% to $755.3 million from $723.4 million for the twenty-six weeks ended August 2, 2008. Same store sales decreased 3.8% for the comparable twenty-six week period versus a 6.2% decrease in the prior year.
