Pandora (P) Sept. 2013 Metrics Largely Show Sequential Improvement

Pandora (NYSE: P) shares are up over 5 percent Tuesday after announcing new metrics for the month of September 2013, showing year-over-year growth and some mixed results to August 2013.
* Listener hours for Pandora during the month of September 2013 were 1.36 billion, an increase of 18% from 1.15 billion during the same period last year. Growth for September 2012 was 67 percent and August 2013 growth was 16 percent;
* Share of total U.S. radio listening for Pandora in September 2013 was 7.77%, an increase of 1.24 points from 6.53% at the same time last year. Growth in September 2012 was 2.50 points, though August 2013 growth was 1.16 points to 7.46 percent; and
* Active listeners were 72.7 million at the end of September 2013, an increase of 25% from 58.3 million during the same time period last year. Pandora reported a 49 percent growth in active listeners IN September 2012 and 28 percent to 56.2 million in August 2013.
Pandora is releasing key audience metrics on a monthly basis to provide the most current information regarding Pandora's users and usage across platforms.
