Onyx Pharma (ONXX) Enters $300M+ License Agreement With Ono In Japan

Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONXX) licensed carfilzomib and ONX 0912 to Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Japan in a transaction that is estimated to exceed $300 million.

Ono will be given exclusive rights to develop and commercialize both compounds for all oncology indications in Japan.

Onyx will retain rights in other Asian contries and the world, including the U.S. and Europe.

Carfilzomib is a highly selective proteasome inhibitor and is currently being evaluated in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma and other cancers.

ONX 0912 in an oral proteasome inhibitor and is currently in Phase 1 testing.
