OSI Systems (OSIS) Body Scanners to Be Deployed at Heathrow and Manchester Airports
OSI Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: OSIS) announced Rapiscan Systems has deployed its Advanced Imaging Technology Secure 1000 Single Pose body scanners at Heathrow and Manchester International Airports in the United Kingdom.
The deployments follow the announcement by the UK Department for Transport (DfT) that it will use the Advanced Imaging Technology systems in wake of the failed terrorist incident on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on December 25, 2009. The mandate calls for the use of these systems in airports in the United Kingdom for the screening of passengers. The Secure 1000 Single Pose’s industry-leading throughput should assist the processing of passengers at Heathrow and Manchester Airport, two of the world’s busiest airports.
