Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) reports that it will have exclusive rights to the 2012 blockbuster movie "The Hunger Games." Streaming will be available in the U.K. and Ireland starting March 3rd, and the U.S. will follow shortly thereafter.
The announcement was posted on Netflix's U.K. and Ireland Facebook page late Thursday.
No word was out on how long Netflix will have exclusive rights to the movie. No doubt that Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) will be vying for the rights as well.
Shares of Netflix are indicated higher Friday after closing up two percent Thursday.
