Nasdaq (Nasdaq: NDAQ) reported the following key volume metrics for the month of August:

- U.S. matched equity volume down 53.2 percent to 25.534 billion;
- U.S. equity options volume down 40.8 percent to 77 million;
- European equity volume down 57 percent to $46 billion; and
- European options and futures volume down 33.3 percent to 7.6 million.
