Farmer Mac (NYSE: AGM) 71.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $3.31, compared to a loss of $0.84 in the same quarter last year.

BankUnited (Nasdaq: BKUNA) 48.4% HIGHER; according to sources close to the situation, John Kanas, North Fork Bancorp’s former CEO, is leading a bid by Carlyle Group, Blackstone Group LP and WL Ross & Co., to acquire BankUnited Financial Corp. Shares of BKUNA spiked more than 30% intraday yesterday on the rumors.

Colonial BancGroup (NYSE: CNB) 36.8% HIGHER; continuing its extremely momentous run today. Since Wednesday of last week, shares have risen everyday, gaining nearly 230% in just 5 trading days.

STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq: STEC) 34.6% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.17, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.11. Revenue for the quarter was $63.5 million, versus the consensus of $58.95 million. STEC sees Q2 EPS 20c to 22c versus consensus of 10 cents. Sees Q2 revenue $68M to $70M versus consensus $58.95 million.

Air Transport Services Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATSG) 33.8% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.18, compared to $0.06 in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter was $280.6 million, versus $382.1 million in Q108.

Kenexa (Nasdaq: KNXA) 33.1% HIGHER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.14, ex-items, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $38.8 million, versus the consensus of $39.05 million. DayStar Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: DSTI) 29.1% LOWER; reports Q1 loss of $0.23, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.25).

Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANPI) 28.3% HIGHER; today announced its corporate partner, Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: BSX), has welcomed the publication of an article in the current edition of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology reviewing data on more than 19,000 patients from the Swedish national registry who were evaluated for restenosis, or the re-narrowing or arteries after percutaneous coronary intervention. Ctrip.com International, Ltd. (Nasdaq: CTRP) 21.3% HIGHER; reported Q1 EPS of $0.32, well above the analyst estimate of $0.21.
