Microsoft (MSFT) Sets Official Windows 8 Launch Date for October 26th, 2012

Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) has hammered out a firm date for release of its Windows 8 operating system.

According to the Official Windows Blog, Windows 8 will be available on October 26, 2012.

The announcement was made at the annual Microsoft sales meeting by Steven Snofsky.

Microsoft shares are slightly lower in late trading Wednesday.
